Driverless Car: Google got the Licence

Google driverless car has finally got Nevada’s approval. But many wonder if we should trust robots by entrusting them with driving us around the town. Watch the video
Google’s self-driving car has been in the news for a while. As of now, the driverless car has got license from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to run on public streets. It is for the first time a self-driving car is allowed to get into the streets. But the autonomous car is given the license on condition that at least two persons will sit inside the vehicle while moving on roads. One person should sit behind the steering as in the case of regular cars and another one should sit in the passenger’s seat to monitor the computer driven car’s movements. This condition is meant to ensure the safety. The persons can manually bring the car in control in the wake of any emergency.

Microsoft reveals Windows 8's new logo:

Microsoft is making plenty of big changes with its Windows 8 operating system, and that has now also extended to a new logo. As explained by Microsoft's Sam Moreau in a post on the official Windows blog, the logo was created with the help of the design agency Pentagram, which posed a simple question when it began on the project: "your name is Windows. Why are you a flag?" That discussion eventually led to the four-paned window you see above, which not only looks more like a window than the previous logos, but clearly echoes the company's new Metro design language. Microsoft also notes that the logo is "authentically digital," and says it will welcome you with a slight tilt and change color based on your desktop. You can see a bigger version after the break, and read the full story of its creation (along with a look back at past logos) at the source link below.

RIP: Microsoft to kill Windows Live

As Microsoft gets ready to launch Windows 8 operating system, it is planning to do away with Windows Live brand in favour of an all-connected 'Microsoft account.' Chris Jones, vice president of Microsoft's Windows Live group posted on the official Microsoft blog, "Today, Windows Live services are used by over 500 million people every month. Its services run at massive scale, and  Windows Live Essentials applications are among the most popular applications in their categories. While these results are certainly noteworthy, they still did not meet our expectations of a truly connected experience".
Even with such a following Microsoft is dumping Windows Live as "Windows Live services and apps were built on versions of Windows that were simply not designed to be connected to a cloud service for anything other than updates which created some amount of customer confusion."
The software company is aiming to sort out these issues with the launch of Windows 8 which will "provides us with an opportunity to re-imagine our approach to services and software and to design them to be a seamless part of the Windows experience, accessible in Windows desktop apps, Windows Metro style apps, standard web browsers, and on mobile devices."

It flashes green for mail and social network notifications and changes colour to red to indicate low battery power. There's a micro USB port (for data connectivity only) along with a charging port, volume buttons and the power button on the right panel. The device does not charge via the USB port which is disappointing as you have to carry the charger at all times
