First, navigate to the control panel and add a printer.
When it prompts on which printer port to use, leave the option at LPT1. This will be changed in a later step.
It will now prompt you to select a printer driver. Navigate to the "Generic" selection in the menu on the left and select the "Generic / Text only" option on the right. Again, this setting will be changed in a later step.
It is possible that you will see the above screen. If it appears simply click next. However, if you have never used the generic print driver this screen will simply be skipped.
In this step you name the printer. Something descriptive such as "Send to OneNote" or "Send to OneNote 2007" can be used.
The printer has now been installed, but many of the settings are not correctly set. These settings, the port, the driver, and the print processor can be set to the OneNote 2007 settings.
Click on the ports tab at the top of the console. Depending on how many printers you have installed you will see various ports available for your printers. Locate the "Send to Microsoft OneNote Port" in the list and check the box next to it. If you do not see this port, then repair your Microsoft Office installation. If you still do not see this port insure you are running a 32 bit version of Windows Vista.
Next, navigate to the Advanced tab in the console. First, change the driver in the drop down to "Send To Microsoft OneNote Driver. Again, if you do not see this in the list, repair your Microsoft Office installation and insure you are running a 32 bit version of Windows.
Lastly, still under the Advanced tab, click on the Print Processor button at the bottom of the console. This brings up a popup box. Select "OneNotePrint2007" in the left window and insure that "RAW" is selected in the right window.
Click OK on the popup and Apply on the console window.
Important Note: Insure the driver and the print processor are correctly set. These settings have a tendency to reset each other and both need to be set correctly to work. Even though you may have already set one of the settings, it might revert back when another setting is changed.
