Rival for Aakash Tablet from Kerala--"Attitude Daksha"

While the Aakash tablet project remains embroiled in controversy, other companies are making hay while the sun shines. Telmoco Development Lab has launched its own low-cost Android tablet –Attitude Daksha, which is touted by the company to be the most powerful 7" tab for students and professionals alike. The new device comes with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) along withCyanogenMod public libraries, and is powered by a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU with 512 MB DDR3 memory.

The Attitude Daksha sports a 7" 5-point capacitive touchscreen, although pixel dimensions of the same have not been mentioned. It is said to be capable of "streaming" as well as playing back 1080p videos, thanks to its 400 MHz GPU, along with handling interactive Flashapps and videos. Ports on the tab include HDMI, micro USB, Ethernet, and 3.5 mm audio out. It also has a microSD slot and a USB OTG connector for 3G dongles. The powerful 3600 mAh battery claims to provide up to 6 hours of back up time with Wi-Fi switched on. Rotational Transfer Guidlines for the year 2012-13 for all cadres except IPS Group 'A'

Directorate has issued orders vide Memo No 141-91/2012-SPB-II dated 2.4.2012 on the above subject.  Employees of all cadres except IPS Group 'A' completing Post Tenure of four years or Station Tenure of six years are to be rotated subject to the following broad principles:-

(i)  Matching of human resource with requirements of posts and placing officials in the choice stations may be considred in the overall context of administrative requirements and austerity measures.

(ii) Inter-station transfers should be restricted to minimum in view of the austerity measures.

(iii) Extension of tenure by one year except in the case of Single Handed Sub Postmasters and employees retiring within one year may be considered for retention by the Head of Circle.

(iv) In respect of Group 'A' officers other than that of Indian Postal Service, Group 'A', officers, who have completed four years in a particular post or six years at a particular station may be invariably rotated, especially, if the post occupied by them is sensitive in nature.  Their transfers should be linked with their performance and requirements of the posts to be filled up.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this office SB Order No.4/2012 vide which it was conveyed that 

MOF(DEA) vide its OM No. 6-1/2011-NS-II (Pt.) dated 26.03.2012, has revised interest rates of Small Savings Schemes from 1st of April 2012. Revise interest rates were also conveyed. 

2. It is further informed that maturity value of a 5 Years RD account opened on or after 1.4.2012 with monthly deposit of Rs.10/- shall be Rs.746.51 and in case of 5 Years NSC VIII-Issue, maturity value of a 

certificate of Rs.100/- purchased on or after 1.4.2012 shall be Rs. 152.35 after 5 years. In case of 10 Years NSCIX-Issue, maturity value of a certificate of Rs.100/- purchased on or after 1.4.2012 shall be Rs.238.87.

Repo rate Cut by 0.5% by RBI

RBI cut repo rate by 0.5% , Thus repo rate became 8.0 from 8.5%. There is No change in Cash Reserve Ratio( C.R.R). The Cut in Repo rate may help to have a decrease in the Interest rate of Housing Loan, and Vehicle Loan

The rate at which the RBI lends money to commercial banks is called repo rate. It is an instrument of monetary policy. Whenever banks have any shortage of funds they can borrow from the RBI. A reduction in the repo rate helps banks get money at a cheaper rate and vice versa.

SERVICE TAX FOR PREMIUM PRODUCTS RAISED

Service tax for various premium products like Speed post, Express Parcel Post raised by 12%. There is no change in Education Cess(2%) and and Higher Secondary Education Cess(1%). Thus the effective rate from 1.4.2012 is 12.36%

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Payment of Dearness Allowance to central Government employees – Revised rates effective from 1.1.2012.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s Office memorandum NO. 1(14)/2011-E-II(B) dated 3rd october , 2011 on the subject mentioned above and to say that the president is pleased to decided that the Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 58% to 65% with effect from 1st January, 2012.

2. The provisions contained in paras 3, 4 and 5 of this Ministry’s O.M. No. 1(3)/2008-E-II(B) dated 29th august, 2008 shall continue to be applicable while regulating Dearness Allowance under these orders.

3 The additional installment of Dearness Allowance payable under these orders shall be paid in cash to all central government employees.

4 These orders shall also apply to the civilian employees paid from the Defence Services estimates and the expenditure will be chareable to the relevant head of the Defence services estimates. In regard to Armed Forces peronnel and Railway employees separate orders will be issued by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways respetviely.

5 In so far as the persons serving in the Indian Audi and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders issue in consultation with the comptroller and Auditor General of India.
